I noticed the front tire my 2002 GL1800 CSC trike looked worn and hit the internet to see what would be te best replacement tire for a Gold Wing trike. Several trike message boards talked highly of the Michelin Pilot Activ BIAS-PLY Sport Touring TIRE. The PILOT ACTV 130/70H18 tire has some good reviews so I decide to give it a try. The tire is H-rated for speeds up to 130 mph; V-rated for speeds up to 149 mph.

I replaced a worn Dunlop Elite III with a new PILOT ACTV and on my first ride noticed a big difference. The tire was installed in reverse direction and inflated to 41psi. I also maintained the Dunlop Elite III inflated at 41psi.
After triking my GL1800 I noticed the Elite III front tire started wearing out fast. I got 14 thousand miles on the last front tire. When I converted my GL1800 I installed a new Elite III and barely got 8 thousand miles. There are many testimonies on the trike message boards that comment that the PILOT ACTV tires are get up to 20 thousand miles of wear.
I will ride and put some miles on the PILOT ACTV tire and see if such comments of high tire wear are true. I will update this post after putting some miles on the tire.
1 through 5, 5 being the highest score.
